M66 in Leo

Description: This spiral galaxy is part of the Trio in Leo, a group of galaxies 30 million light-years distant.  It is thought to be somewhat distorted from the interaction with the other members of the group: M65 and NGC3628.
 
Exposure Data: 2/11/2004.  LRGB: 20x3mL, 7x3mR, 7x3mG, 7x4mB. RGB binned 2x2.
-20C, .59 arc-sec./pixel.
 
Processing: Acquired via Sequencer II and CCDSoft, reduced and aligned in Mira, Combined in Sigma, L 20xRL in AIP4WIN, DDP in Maxim, LLRGB combine, curves, levels and other processing in Photoshop.
 
Optical System: 14.5 Ritchey-Chretien RCOS Truss @ F/6.4, ST-10XME NABG/CFW-8A CCD camera, Paramount ME.  Unguided!
 
Comments: Deconvolved to 2.0 arc-sec.
