IC289, Planetary Nebula in Cassiopeia

 

 

 

Description: This is a small planetary nebula. 
 
Exposure Data: 9/26/2002.  LRGB: 6x10m, 3x10m, 3x10m, 3x10m. -10C, 0.39 arc-sec./pixel.
 
Processing: Acquired with Maxim, reduced and aligned in Mira, Debloomer and RGB combine in Maxim, L: 5 iterations CCDSharp, LRGB combine and other post processing in Photoshop.
 
Optical System: RCOS 16", ST-10ME USB NABG/CFW-8A/AO7 CCD camera, Paramount ME mount at Kitt Peak Visitor's Center.
 
Comments: First light of 16" RC and Paramount ME on Kitt Peak with Adam Block and Brad Ehrhorn.  FWHM's were around 1.8 arc-sec, deconvolved to around 1.3 arc-sec.  The image FOV is 4.9 x 4.0 arc-minutes.
